Onyx is a black dragon, ex-fiance of Sapphie and Rose. He uses black dragon magic and is the leader of the crime syndicate Fang. He is also hunted by the Society. Originally, he is a human who gained his power from a Lost Precious and is the main antagonist of Dragon Crisis. Onyx is ruthless and sadistic towards humans as he believes that humanity is weak despite he was once human.
Onyx had his men capture Rose and bring her to him, but Ryuji Kisaragi and Eriko Nanao stole her from the criminals, forcing him to get Rose himself. He failed to marry Rose when Ryuji interrupted the wedding and saved Rose, defeating Onyx in the process. He later makes another attempt to get Rose by staging the upcoming age ritual so to wipe her memories of Ryūji and escape Japan with her and Sapphie, but his deception is revealed by Maruga while Sapphie turns on Onyx (albert without him knowing) as she is unwilling to support Onyx's misdeeds any further, leading Ryūji and his friends to go after him and get Rose back. In the final confrontation, he is killed by Ryūji and Rose's powerful magic that they unleash upon kissing each other, ending his and Fang's reign of terror for good.

Relationships
Ryuji: He is greatly jealous of him because Rose loves him instead of Onyx himself.
Rose: He likes her and makes two attempts to get her, both ending in failure.
Kai: She is Onyx's loyal assistant.
Eriko: She is also an enemy to Onyx.
Sapphie: She is Onyx's fiancée, but Onyx likes Rose more, causing her to become jealous and eventually leading her to turn on Onyx, albert behind his back.
The Society: He has been hunted by the organization for some time.
Maruga: He had some type of past with her, but they are not actually friends.
Ryuji's Parents: They stopped him from escaping Japan during the final confrontation at the airport.
